Belief in a Mission

I believe in problem-solving and thinking outside the box. I believe in my grandmother, the first business woman I knew, who had a 6th grade education but spoke 4 languages and sold Avon from her front porch. I believe in property rights and that you should not be taxed out of ownership of your own home. I believe that when you leave this world, your assets should pass to those you desire without confusion and complication. I believe that the law should empower you to live the best life possible, not deter you from your dreams and aspirations.

Important Estate Documents

Will Packages

Planning for the future doesn't have to be overwhelming. I offer comprehensive estate planning packages - customized to your needs - that include essential documents such as Last Will and Testaments, Powers of Attorney (both Financial and Medical), Directives to Physicians (Living Wills), Disposition of Remains documents, and various others. These documents ensure your wishes are honored, your loved ones are protected, and the probate process is made easier for your family.

Mediation

As a certified mediator, I offer a neutral and solutions-focused approach to resolving conflicts without the cost, delay, and stress of litigation. Inheritance conflicts, contested Wills, and disagreements among heirs can quickly become emotionally and financially draining. I look "outside the box" for ways to preserve relationships and avoid permanent hostility within families.

Avoiding Probate

Deeds and Trusts

Avoiding probate doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. I can hep you protect your assets and ensure a smooth transfer of property through tools like Transfer on Death Deeds (Todds), Ladybird Deeds, and Revocable Living Trusts. These estate planning strategies allow you to maintain full control of your assets during your lifetime while simplifying or even bypassing the probate process for your loved ones.

Professional Female

   My Background

I was born and raised in San Antonio, the fifth of seven children. With five brothers, an older sister, and a neighborhood packed with kids, standing up for myself was a survival tool. It came in handy when I attended the University of Texas at Austin (go Longhorns!) as an undergraduate along with 50,000 other students. UT law school was no less demanding, and as a member of the Texas Law Review, I had practice using my English degree to master the art of legal writing.

Credentials

I became licensed to practice law in 1994. I have a general law practice, with a focus on Wills, probate, estate planning, and transfer on death deeds. I have experience in litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, in real estate, family law, contracts, deceptive trade practices, and oil and gas. I have written appellate briefs, most recently on an oil and gas/fiduciary duty issue in the case of Tex. Outfitters Ltd., LLC v. Nicholoson, 572 S. W.3d 647 (Tex. 2019) which was affirmed unanimously in our favor by the Texas Supreme Court.
